Nice set of 21 irons blades cutters for Stanley 45 wood plane with orig Wards box

Also included is the original wood cutter box and cardboard lid, although they have some condition issues. The box and lid have the blue finish as can be seen, and the lid is not marked Stanley or with any brand name. The blue color would indicate that these cutters were originally part of a Wards Master plane that was made for them by Stanley. The cutters are clearly Stanley cutters, with the Stanley notch in the upper corner and with Stanley part numbers on every cutter except for the 1/8 dado where there isn’t room for the number. These will not work properly on a Sargent plane, as Sargent uses a different pattern of notches. 7 bead or beading cutters, marked with part numbers 21 through 27. Sizes are 1/8″ through 1/2″ by 16ths. 2 match cutters. One is marked “6” which is the 3/16″ cutter, and the other is marked “5” which is the 1/4″ cutter. Both of these have their depth stops. 1 sash cutter marked “1”. It also has its depth stop. 11 dado or plow cutters. Ten are marked with part numbers, which are 11 through 19, plus one faintly marked “18 1/2″. The 1/8 cutter is not marked as expected. Sizes are 1/8″ through 1/2″ by 16ths, 5/8″, 3/4″, 13/16″ (the 18 1/2), and 7/8″. The box lid actually shows 23 cutters. I don’t have the #9 filletster cutter and I don’t have the #8 slitter with this set. Condition of the cutters is very good to excellent, mostly bright and shiny with a variety of scratches, and just a hint of patina (color) here or there. The 1/8″ dado doesn’t have the little hole at the top, and the 7/8″ dado is a bit rough along one edge. The wood cutter box is also in very good to excellent condition. The cardboard lid is in poor to fair condition, showing lots of wear and with some clear tape holding one end together which I tried to show in the 8th picture. The winner gets all 21 cutters and the box and lid! I sell what I enjoy, and I collect antique woodworking tools and I enjoy photography!
