The punches are machined flat and smooth at the cutting end to create perfect oval blanks every time, the end of the punches all beveled for use with a heavy mallet or dead hammer. This disc cutter is made to be used in Jewelry making, for cutting precious metals. The capacity of the cutter punches is up to 18-gauge soft metals, non-ferrous metal. Ideal for Copper, Silver, Gold, Aluminum and Brass. We recommend that the metal be annealed (Softened) and utilizing some oil to prolong the life of the edges.
