Record 050 combination plough / beading plane with extended set of 18 cutters. This Record No 050 plough / beading plane in excellent used, re-plated condition. Includes an extended set of 18 cutters, 9 plough, 7 beading cutters. Slightly more comprehensive than the 044 model as it has scoring blades for cutting rebates and grooves across the grain as well as the extra 10 cutters. Normal sets only have a 1/4 ” tongue cutter, this set has the optional 3/16 ” cutter. All the cutters are clean and freshly honed, in a good modern zipped storage box. Both nickers are present and in good condition so cutting grooves across the grain is not a problem. The most important loose piece is the odd shaped part which is used instead of the inner skate to clamp the two narrowest cutters 1/8 ” and 3/16 “, frequently missing. Also comes with both depth stops, the short normal one and the longer one for the beading cutters. This set comes with a photocopy user manual and box label. All are stripped, cleaned and examined for cracks, damage etc and carefully reassembled. Missing parts often need to be remanufactured in order to sell only complete usable planes. Modern Record 050 C plough plane with an extended set of 17 imperial cutters. This is Record’s redesigned version of the classic No 050A plane. Not the normal example of this type of plane, this version has a longer clamp bolt from a 45C enabling wider blades to be used. It has 10 straight cutters from 1/8 ” right up to 1 1/4 ” wide suitable for cutting most rebates. Also includes a set of 6 beading cutters with the additional long depth stop plus a 1/4 tongue cutter. Much improved design of the 2 nickers and the 2 depth stops and no loose pieces to get lost.
