The cutters are not marked, but many of them are quite distinctive in shape. The Lewin plane is an interesting plane, and is a British copy of a Stanley 45 with (in my opinion) an emphasis on function over form or aesthetics. The typical Stanley 45 cutter is just under 1/8 thick, these cutters average about. 130″ thick (plus of minus a few thousandths) or just over 1/8″. 5 bead or beading cutters, with nominal cutting widths of 1/8″, 3/16″, 1/4″, 3/8″, and 1/2. The 3/8″ and 1/2″ are about a 32nd undersize. 10 dado or plow cutters, with widths of 1/8″ through 1/2″ by 16ths, and 5/8″, 3/4″, and 7/8. 1 filletster cutter with a width of 1-1/4. And 2 match or tongue cutters with widths of 3/16″ and 1/4″. Both have their proper depth stops. Overall length of each cutter is between 3-1/2″ and 3-5/8″. All of the cutters have the notch in the upper corner, similar to a Stanley notch. Will these cutters fit in your Stanley 45? I tried them in a couple of 45’s, the cutters fit in the slot ok, but I had to back out the clamp quite a bit farther to get them to fit, compared to clamping a Stanley cutter. Condition of all 18 is very good to excellent, reasonably bright and shiny, with some bits of patina (color) here and there, and some tiny bits of pitting on a couple of the cutters. They have all been resharpened at some time in the past, and will want a light sharpening. I sell what I enjoy, and I collect antique woodworking tools and. Lovely shed find during a clearout. 2x planes and an array of cutters. Great to see both planes with their original instruction manuals. The Stanley set is a No. 45’Seven Planes in One’. This plane comes with 2x boxed sets of cutters. The Lewin set is a’Universal Plane’ with its original box and cutters also. I know absolutely nothing about old woodworking tools but they both appear complete but I could well be wrong so be sure to inspect all pictures & feel free to ask for further info or pictures if required. Naturally all pieces are showing signs of use and age but nothing stands out to me that would cause concern. Great collectable bundle for somebody. Mostly relating to newspapers. Some yard maintenance and some babysitting. Atfirst, I walked my routes in a small, at the time, in the outer edges or LAcounty. I loved the bike. At 16 years old I left home and worked full time in a metal fabrication department for a company that made patio furniture. I was the second fastest production operator on the brake and punch out presses in the plant. The Forman was the fastest. Also crushed 4 digits on my hands. At 19 years old I was a Sergeant in charge of an Airborne Infantry Squad which had a M-60 machine gun crew. I was sent to the Republic of Viet Nam. Was wounded in the end of 67. When I came home I couldn’t find a comfortable place to work so started my own business. After about 10,000 belts and a good number of bags, satchels and key fobs I Moved on to Jewelry. (San Francisco Street Artist License No 28). As I got into gold and precious gems I moved on to art shows first in Florida Then eventually up the entire east coast along with the mid-west. Atlanta, Virginia Beach, New York City, all the big towns in Ohio, then on to Detroit, Ann Arbor, Chicago, and many cities in between then back down south. While Doing the touring I received over 70 awards for design and craftsmanship. By The time I was 40 I had my own jewelry store and became a Graduate Gemologist(GIA) in Delray Beach Florida. During that time, I designed, developed, and taught the jewelry program for the Boca Raton Museum. I moved back to Colorado (was born in Denver) about 10 years ago. Yes, I’m no spring chicken. I studied and worked with many a vintage tool. I LOVE OLD TOOLS MOSTLY WOODWORKING TOOLS BUT I MAY VARY A LITTLE. I ALSO LIKE ART AND CRAFTS, HAVING BEEN A CRAFTSMAN ALL MY LIFE.
