Set of 52 irons blades cutters for Stanley 55 wood plane with boxes & lids

One set of 52 cutters for a Stanley 55 wood plane as pictured. Also included are the 4 cutter boxes and 4 lids, although one lid is quite warped. Earlier 55 planes came with 52 cutters, and later 55 planes came with 55 cutters, with 4 added and 1 deleted to get to 55. This is an earlier set with all 52 cutters that would have come in the set, and they are photographed in box order (Cutter Box 1, Cutter Box 2, etc) in the pictures of the cutters. The slitter was counted by Stanley as one of the cutters in the set. Cutter #29, which was deleted in later sets, is included in this set. This came to me as 49 cutters, with 3 missing, and I added in those 3. In addition, 1 of the 49 appears to have been added in as well, as it doesn’t match the other 48. The added cutters are #115, #22, #222, and #32. The #222 that I added is really rough, but it was all I had. Condition of 48 of the 52 cutters is all very similar. They all have quite a bit of pitting on both sides, and they have been cleaned by the prior owner, with the machined sides all having a very polished appearance. The 4 added cutters are pretty easy to pick out in the pictures, as they don’t have that polished appearance. Three are in good condition, with a bit of pitting, while again the #222 is quite rough and heavily pitted. The boxes are quite dark and stained, and have a bit of an odor to them that is probably a wood stain or finish coating of some sort. A prior owner has hand written the box number on 3 of the boxes, and none of the boxes have any sort of label remaining. They also have some spots of glue from old repairs. One lid, on the far left in the last picture, is quite warped. The winner gets all 52 cutters and all 4 boxes and lids! I sell what I enjoy, and I collect antique woodworking tools and I enjoy photography! The queue is overflowing with tools right now, as they seem to be finding me faster than I can list them.
