Also included is the original wood box. All of the cutters except for the tongue or match cutter are marked with their nominal widths, which are 5/16″, 3/8″, 1/2″, 5/8″, 13/16″, 1-1/4″ and 1-1/2. The gap on the tongue cutter is about 1/4 in width. The box is not marked. Condition of the cutters is very good, reasonably clean and bright with some scattered bits of patina or light rust, and a few tiny spots of faint pitting. Condition of the box is good, other than the large chip at the upper edge of the main part of the box. It shows wear along the sharp corners and where the little nails are that hold it together. Both clips for the lid are intact and original. This is not a complete set of all the cutters made for the 46, but these are nicer thanmany, ans this set includes the hard to find 13/16! Their big increases are in January, timed to start at the end of the Holiday rates, and this year is no exception. And the Post Office has discontinued the Regional Flat Rate boxes, which were often less expensive for certain sizes and weights. Please don’t ask, the answer is no.
