June 8, 2022
Vintage/antique parts from a Marine or other Globe Valve reseater machine set — this includes a nearly complete set of straight and 45 degree tool steel valve seat cutters that range from 1/2 in. Is missing as well as relevant tooling and extension shafts — — this set also includes four Leavitt precision/keyless lathe chucks for a reseating lathe: a very rare 2 in. Two different configurations of 3 in. And a 4 1/2 in. Chuck [patent 1909] ; as well as a hand-crank headstock spindle that fits in one of the 3 in. Chucks – the 4 1/2 in. Als o has the spanner to loosen and tighten it — set was manufactured in the teens/1920s period by Leavitt Machine Co. – all enclosed in the original wooden case. Overall wear from time and use — chucks have some rust patching – they seem very functional though in need of cleaning and re-greasing — tools are mostly still sharp / headstock spindle is very tight and needs cleaning and greasing — wooden case is pretty dirty and there is considerable wear to the paper label under the lid — — we are always listing interesting Historical Tech relics.
