Record 044 plough / rebate plane, full set of cutters, restored & improved. Classic Record 044 plough plane, complete with long and short pairs of rails. Comes with an extended full set of 10 imperial size blades, new replacement blades properly hardened and tempered then hollow ground and honed both sides. This has 10 blades because the only limit is the length of the side clamping screw and I had some material left sufficient to make two wider blades, this is the only plane with this range of blades. The 10 sizes are 1/8 “, 3/16 “, 1/4 “, 5/16 “, 3/8 “, 7/16 “, 1/2. A common fault with this plane is that the plated cast iron bodies and steel rails go rusty easily. These faults have been rectified by replating the rusted bodies and reboring the bodies to accept stainless steel rails for another lifetime of use. Newly made and plated depth stop. Blades and short bars are supplied in a plastic storage box. Comes with a copy of an original box label. Condition is far better than the best, all working well. All are stripped, cleaned and examined for cracks, damage etc and carefully reassembled. Missing parts often need to be remanufactured in order to sell only complete usable planes.
