Set of 54 irons blades cutters for Stanley 55 wood plane incl chamfer & with boxes

One set of 54 cutters for a Stanley 55 wood plane as pictured. Also included are the 4 cutter boxes and 4 lids, although they have some condition issues. Earlier 55 planes came with 52 cutters, and later 55 planes came with 55 cutters, with 4 added and 1 deleted to get to 55. This is the later set, but I’m missing the # 18-1/2 cutter which is a 13/16 dado and one of the four added cutters. The other three cutters that were added to get from 52 to 55 are the #40 and #41 chamfer cutters, and the #6 3/16 match cutter, and those three cutters are included. The #29 beading cutter was deleted when Stanley went from 52 to 55, and it is not included with this set. They are photographed in box order (Cutter Box 1, Cutter Box 2, etc) in the pictures of the cutters. The slitter was counted by Stanley as one of the cutters in the set, and although it didn’t fit in the box it is shown on Box 3. This came to me as 40 cutters with Boxes 1, 3, and 4. They have the proper labels for the later 55 cutter set. I added in Box 2 which doesn’t have any label at all, and added in 14 cutters to fill that box except for the # 18-1/2 as noted. Condition of the cutters is very good. I didn’t do any cleaning, this is exactly how they came to me, and some would look even better with a light cleaning. The cutters in Box 2, which are the ones I added in, have the most variation in condition, but I tried to pick nice cutters for that box. The sash cutter does not have a depth stop, but both match cutters have their depth stops. Condition of the boxes is fair on average. They are original boxes and lids. Box 1 — the wood is split out and missing on one end of the lid, so there is nothing for the latch to attach to on one side of that end. The label is dark and dirty with some scratches or bits missing, especially about where cutters 113 and 115 are pictured. Both lid latches are present. Box 2 — this is the added box, with no label. Both lid latches are present but rusty. Box 3 — the label is dark and dirty with some missing pieces especially around the edges. Box 4 — only one lid latch is present, the other lid latch is mostly broken off and missing. The label is a bit cleaner than the other two but has some missing pieces especially at both ends. The winner gets all 5 cutters and all 4 boxes and lids! I sell what I enjoy, and I collect antique woodworking tools and I enjoy photography!
