Included are the 52 cutters plus the 4 boxes, although Box 1 does not have a lid. All of the cutters have the Stanley notch in the upper corner, except for the 1/8 dado which has the little hole in the upper corner. These do not interchange with Sargent cutters, as Sargent planes used different notch locations. Earlier Stanley 55 planes came with these 52 cutters. In the 1920’s, Stanley deleted the #29 beading cutter (3/4) and added 4 cutters (#6 match, #18-1/2 dado, and #40 and #41 chamfer cutters) to get to the set of 55 cutters. Again, to be clear, this is the earlier set with 52 cutters. Included are the following cutters by their numbers. Box 1 – 102, 104, 106, 113, 115, 82, 84, 86, 93, 95, 62, 64. Box 2 – 10 through 19, 9, 1, 5. Box 3 – 73, 75, 43, 44, 45, 47, 53, 54, 55, 57, 8. Note that #8 is the slitter. Box 4 – 21 through 29, 212, 222, 232, 32, 34, 36, 38. That makes a total of 52 cutters including the slitter, which was counted by Stanley as one of the 52. The sash cutter #1 has its depth stop. The match cutter #5 does not have a depth stop. Most of the cutters are numbered, although the dado or plow cutters are not numbered, the 7 smaller beading cutters are not numbered, and the slitter is not numbered. Condition of the cutters is mostly very good, reasonably clean and bright, but there are some tiny spots of rust here and there, often on the very tips of the blades. Again, cutter box No 1 does not have a lid, and cutter box 2 has some sort of a sketch on the back side. The labels on all four boxes are largely intact, with some chips and tears especially on Box 4. I sell what I enjoy, and I collect antique woodworking tools and I enjoy photography! The queue is overflowing with tools right now, as they seem to be finding me faster than I can list them. So please keep watching my postings as I have LOTS more to list! Searching my listings: I have lots to see! That will lead you to my extensive system of categories. You might ask: How can I know when you start new listings? Descriptions, and auctions with pictures only of the left side because the right side was trashed. I come from the handshake school of doing business, and hopefully you are like me and understand what that means. What goes around, comes around. However, that doesn’t mean that I won’t make an occasional mistake. Please don’t ask, the answer is no. I package well, and have a great track record. I use the US Post Office for everything. Every year the US Postal Service raises rates in mid to late January, and this year is no exception. So I wont do that for you, or to you. PACKAGING: Please check my feedback — I package well. I hope someday I will meet some of you as we trudge the happy road of tool collecting!
