The punches’ cutting ends are machined flat and smooth to produce flawless heart blanks every time, and the punches’ ends are all beveled for use with a heavy mallet or dead hammer. This disc cutter is designed for cutting precious metals in jewelry creation. The cutter punches can handle up to 18-gauge soft metals, however it is not designed for use with non-ferrous metals. Copper, silver, gold, aluminum, and brass are all good choices. To extend the life of the edges, we recommend annealing (softening) the metal and using some oil.
